Pussy - Gaby Kerpel Remix

More Than Pussy - The Remix EP features six previously unreleased remixes of songs from Brazilian Girls critically acclaimed self-titled debut and sophomore album Talk To La Bomb. The EP will be available for purchase only on the iTunes and the band’s website. Brazilian Girls will play select dates this fall following a summer tour that included performances at the Coachella and Bonnaroo festivals. They will play KCRW’s World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on August 26 with Macy Gray and Zap Mama.

The EP features Carl Craig’s remix of “Last Call,” a remix of “Jique” by MSTRKRFT, two remixes of “Pussy” by armsofghandi featuring dancehall star Mr. Vegas and Gabby Kerpel respectively and the Brazilian Girls’ own take on the Talking Heads classic “Crosseyed and Painless” recorded in English and Spanish and mixed by legendary mixer and producer Tchad Blake. Adria Petty has directed two new videos for “Jique” and “Rules of the Game.” She has also directed videos for The Who, Kings of Leon, Regina Spektor and Mat Kearney.

Both the Brazilian Girls eponymous debut and sophomore album Talk To La Bomb earned tremendous critical acclaim. The New York Times wrote of Talk To La Bomb, “Where many dance-music bands are satisfied with a beat, two chords and a come-on, Brazilian Girls are far more ambitious. The songs on their second album are more fully formed and thornier than those on their debut. They can veer toward new wave, electropop or French chanson as reimagined in a 21st-century lounge, where a suave melody could be peppered with a double-time break beat.” Of the debut, the Associated Press declared it one of the “top 10 albums of 2005” and The Miami Herald described it as “...the best debut in a decade...”
